Hi! I’m Linda Belles, one of the co-directors here at Greentown. After watching two documentaries, “Forks Over Knives” and “A Place at the Table”, I not only changed the way I ate but became deeply concerned about struggling families. Fresh fruit and vegetables are difficult to afford and often non-existent at food pantries. Greentown provides important nutrition, a service that is getting notice in Waukegan. When I’m not harvesting, weeding, or hauling produce to a pantry, I keep busy with day to day operations. Occasionally I convince my husband and three grown children to volunteer as well. Our other family members are two Birman cats who make sure all paperwork is slept on first. My professional experience and degree are in Information Technology with a variety of industries such as banking, manufacturing, direct marketing, and catalog fulfillment.
